Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya is now among the best in the world and aiming at taking the crown from Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois.

That's according to AS, who cover how Raya has 'started the season as a star' for Arsenal and now appears determined to dethrone Courtois.

The newspaper believes that Raya is currently 'going to achieve a miracle per game' after an impressive run of super saves starting with the one to deny Olly Watkins.

He's since followed that up with a superb double against Atalanta and then nine interventions against Manchester City to keep his side ahead before John Stones' late equaliser.

The Spanish goalkeeper has 'elevated his status' to that of Arsenal's star, hitting a level that puts him beyond even Bukayo Saka and William Saliba. The stats back that up too, with clean sheets in four of the six games he's played and only three conceded. He almost boasts the best save percentage in the league.

That makes him the best England currently and potentially one of the best in the world. It's an impressive rise for a player who was defending Southport's goal in the National League ten years ago.

Now he has 'fully entered the debate' to be the best goalkeeper in the world at this moment in time, a title AS believes is currently held by Courtois.

The Belgian goalkeeper is continuing to make the difference for the Spanish giants but the Arsenal man, according to them, 'has decided to give the Belgian a challenge.'
