Bukayo Saka appeared to sustain a hamstring injury against Crystal Palace

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka was forced off during the first half of Saturday’s Premier League game against Crystal Palace with an injury.

The England international returned to the starting line-up after he came on as a second half substitute in Wednesday’s win over the same opposition.

Saka’s evening, however, lasted only 25 minutes when he appeared to suffer a hamstring strain.

‘He put his hand up straight away,’ said Sky Sports co-commentator Jamie Carragher.

‘I know he gets a little bit of ridicule at times for going down too much. But it looks like a problem.

‘It will only be a problem for Arsenal if it’s serious. It looked like his hamstring when he tried to put a cross in and it got blocked.’

Saka injured his right hamstring playing for England in October and appeared to damage the same muscle at Selhurst Park.

The Gunners are back in action against struggling Ipswich at the Emirates Stadium on December 27 before they travel to Brentford on New Year’s Day.

Arsenal will be on the road again three days later for a game against Brighton before a mouthwatering FA Cup third round against Manchester United on January 12.
