Arsenal are looking to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window.

Indeed, Kai Havertz's injury has exposed just how little depth Arsenal have in their attack, and this summer is the time for the Gunners to act on this.

Alexander Isak is Arsenal's dream target, while Ollie Watkins remains on Arsenal's radar.

However, Arsenal have long been courting another number nine – Benjamin Sesko.

Sesko was a concrete target for Arsenal last summer, but Sesko rejected Arsenal late in the day in order to stay at RB Leipzig.

Speaking on Market Madness, Jacobs has been discussing Sesko's situation, and he says that Arsenal are still in for the Slovenian and they actually believe the striker has already chosen the north London club over Chelsea and Manchester United.

Arsenal believe Benjamin Sesko has chosen them

Jacobs shared what he knows about Sesko and how Arsenal feel about this deal.

According to the journalist, Sesko is one of Arsenal's two key targets, and they believe he has chosen a move to the Emirates over Chelsea or Manchester United.

"Arsenal have got two lead targets. One, Benjamin Sesko, who Arsenal believe has picked their project over Chelsea or Manchester United and will be available with the release clause this summer in the region of 70 million euros, although it’s performance related, my understanding is, and it is variable, and therefore the better Sesko does, the higher the amount goes up, and it could eventually be something, even in the region of 80 million euros. (£70m)," Jacobs said.

"But Arsenal feel PSR compliant, they’ve got money to spend, and finding that number nine is the top priority. Of course, Alexander Isak is the other name. Newcastle have got a big league cup final.

"We should start by saying Darren Eales, the Newcastle CEO, has said it would be crazy to sell Isak. That doesn’t mean Arsenal won’t try, but it’s going to be a difficult deal to pull off. And there’s no progress at this point."

RB Leipzig strikers' records in the Premier League.

Arsenal look to be in pole position to sign Benjamin Sesko this summer, and there's reason to be very excited about this signing.

Sesko is scoring at a very respectable rate for RB Leipzig this season, and the exciting thing is that he's just 21 years old.

Of course, there is reason to believe that Arsenal should approach this deal with caution.

RB Leipzig strikers have struggled to make much of an impact in the Premier League in the past – just look at Timo Werner and Christopher Nkunku as two examples.

Nkunku and Werner scored for fun for RB Leipzig, but in England, they seriously struggled.

Meanwhile, Naby Keita was a high-profile flop at Liverpool after signing from Leipzig, so there is reason to be wary about Sesko and how he will adapt to English football.
