Aston Villa trying to find 'regulatory loophole' in player's loan – Situation being 'fully evaluated'
Earlier this month, there was a confident claim from Corriere dello Sport that Samuel Iling-Junior will not return to Aston Villa in the January transfer window.
The outlet stated that even if the Englishman is getting less game time in his loan stint at Bologna, he would play even less minutes at the Birmingham club.
A fresh claim has now emerged about the winger and TuttoBolognaWeb believe that Iling-Junior’s future at Bologna is still uncertain.
His situation at the Italian side is still being 'fully evaluated' because the Aston Villa loanee has played only 408 minutes in all competitions for Bologna, adding doubt to whether he can continue playing this season.
Due to that, Aston Villa are trying to find a 'regulatory loophole' that can allow him to play for another club this season.
FIFA regulations state that one player cannot feature for three teams in the same season. But the outlet are confident that the Villans are evade the rule because technically, Iling-Junior only played for the English side in pre-season friendlies.
If the loan stint does end, there will be no shortage of options for the English youngster, who interests two French clubs right now.
