On Wednesday, Aston Villa host Juventus and there are concerns over Dušan Vlahović’s involvement for the Champions League clash at Villa Park.

The Serbia international picked up an injury while in action against Denmark last week and missed the Serie A side’s goalless draw against AC Milan at the weekend.

On Wednesday, Corriere Torino reported the 24-year-old suffered a ‘very bad blow’ and is almost certainly out for the Aston Villa tie.

Calciomercato now bring the latest on the striker’s situation and state he ‘tries to return’ to face Unai Emery’s side.

The former Fiorentina man has a muscle injury in his left thigh and trained alone on Sunday. The report states he’ll undergo tests on Monday, and this will be ‘decisive’ to find out whether he can train with the rest of the group.

At this moment in time, his recovery is going as per plan and he could be in contention to start against the Villans if there are no further setbacks. If Vlahović were to miss the trip to Villa Park, Juve manager Thiago Motta could start Timothy Weah in attack.

Calciomercato add ‘no further recoveries are expected’ for Douglas Luiz and Nicolás González, while Arkadiusz Milik remains a long-term absentee.
