Liverpool will return to Premier League action on Saturday as they look to make it four wins in a row this season.

Arne Slot’s Reds have triumphed in their first three games of the season and are yet to conceded this term.

Now, Liverpool will host another team known as the Reds, with Nottingham Forest coming to Anfield for a 3pm kick-off.

In terms of team news, Liverpool don’t have too many personnel problems, but there is one issue that Slot has admitted is a “big disappointment”.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot disappointed by Harvey Elliott injury news

Slot, speaking to the media as per the Liverpool website, spoke about Harvey Elliott’s injury, one that could see him miss over a month of action.

The Reds midfielder was hurt during a training session with England’s Under-21s and was immediately sent back to the care of his club.

Further assessment by the medical team back at the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby revealed that Elliott had sustained a fracture.

As per the Liverpool Echo, the 21-year-old could be out for the next six weeks, and the Reds boss is saddened by the news.

“Harvey is of course a big disappointment for him but not only for him, also for us,” said Slot.

“Okay, he didn't play that much in the first three games but he played a lot in pre-season and he showed himself really well.

“So, of course, if he had stayed fit he would have had a lot of playing time in the upcoming fixtures. But now he isn't [fit] and that also gives the chance to someone else.

“So it is, first and foremost, a blow for himself, and then also for us because I think availability is important in the stage of the season when we play seven games in 22 days, I think.

“It's a blow for the both of us but he will work as hard as always to come back in the best possible way. He didn't stay fit unfortunately so he is out for a longer time.”
