Charlton Athletic’s fixture against Bolton Wanderers was halted due to a medical emergency in the crowd.
Play had been underway for four minutes at the Toughsheet Community Stadium when the referee paused the contest.
The match was resumed six minutes later.
Bolton confirmed they would update supporters when they had gathered further information.
The worrying scenes in Bolton came just days after a Portsmouth fan tragically passed away after being taken ill in the stands during the game against Middlesbrough.
The match at Fratton Park kicked off at 3pm but was stopped within seconds by referee Gavin Ward after he was made aware of the medical emergency.
Portsmouth later confirmed the devastating news on social media.
A handful of Championship and League One matches had been paused or delayed due to medical emergencies in recent months.
Millwall’s fixture against Sunderland in November was suspended due to multiple medical incidents in the crowd.
It was reported two separate emergencies took place in the Millwall end while a third occurred in the Sunderland away section.
