Bournemouth do not want to sell Milos Kerkez in the January transfer window, talkSPORT understands, as two of the Premier League’s big boys circle.

Kerkez has made a huge impact at the Cherries since signing from AZ Alkmaar for an undisclosed fee in July 2023.

The left-back has integral to Bournemouth’s Premier League rise under Andoni Iraola and scored with a superb finish in their 4-1 win over Newcastle.

His performances have unsurprisingly attracted transfer interest, particularly in the English top flight.

Liverpool and Manchester United are understood to be keen on the Hungarian international.

However, Bournemouth do not want to sanction a sale this month.

The Liverpool link is backed by the fact the Reds’ sporting director, Richard Hughes, was the man who signed Kerkez for Bournemouth.

The chief then left the south coast club and completed a switch to Liverpool in June.

Bournemouth welcomed fellow left-back Julio Soler from Argentine club Lanus earlier in the window.

He has already made one appearance for the club, which came in their 5-1 FA Cup thrashing of West Brom last weekend.

Kerkez is likely to remain ahead of him in the pecking order, though, having started all 22 of their Premier League games this season.

The 21-year-old has scored two goals and assisted another four in 56 appearances in all competitions since his arrival.

His latest strike on Saturday was Bournemouth’s fourth and final goal of the afternoon during a thumping win over Newcastle.

Justin Kluivert was the star of the show at St. James’ Park as he scored a hat-trick – his second of the season – and then assisted Kerkez for his goal in stoppage-time.

Victory was Bournemouth’s sixth in their last ten Premier League matches, during which time they have remained unbeaten.

Iraola’s side are sixth in the table and only a point off the top four.

Qualification for European football next season is becoming an increasingly likely prospect amid their strong run of form.
