Brighton and Hove Albion's Joel Veltman is on Ajax's list of options for this month, alongside Fulham's Kenny Tete.

That's according to De Telegraaf, who report the pair are on the list at the Dutch club as they consider replacements for Devyne Rensch.

The newspaper state that Ajax are preparing for Rensch's departure this month. His contract expires in the summer and won't be renewed.

They want to sell now, and he has received an offer from Roma. All indications are that he is well on his way out of the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

That's led technical director Alex Kroes to throw out lines to various agents and players. He wants to avoid Ajax being left without a right-back at the end of the window.

Various options are being discussed, and that includes the Brighton and Fulham defenders. They're the more mature options on a list that is largely focused on young players for the future.

Both Veltman and Tete are 'high on' Kroes list, however. The pair are former Ajax players and will be out of contract with Brighton and Fulham respectively in the summer. The Dutch club would have to make significant adjustments in terms of salary to bring them back, though.

Nevertheless, they are on the list should Rensch leave as expected. That will leave a hole that needs to be filled and both could be targeted before the various youngsters also being eyed.
