Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Diego Gómez has insisted he is delighted with his progress at the club so far after arriving in the January transfer window.
Versus cover comments from the midfielder today after he spoke to the media at an airport after arriving in Paraguay for international duty.
The 21-year-old joined Brighton in a €13m deal from Inter Miami in the January transfer window after impressing with the MLS side for two years after joining from Libertad in his homeland.
He is yet to fully establish himself in Fabian Hurzeler's first team, but has been impressing in the minutes he's been handed to date, adding a new dimension to a Brighton midfield that was already impressing this season.
The Paraguayan is very much a signing for the future, continuing Brighton's trend of targeting young players that they can develop for the future and potentially sell on for a profit down the line.
That development is already underway according to Gomez, who can already see the changes in his game in his short time with the club.
“It’s helped me a lot with my intensity; football is more dynamic, and it’s played at a different level," he said.
"As everyone knows, the Premier League is the best league, and luckily everything’s going well for me.
“The truth is, I’m very happy with the performance I’m having at my club. Now I’m focusing on what it’s going to be like here with the national team."
