Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Yasin Ayari is unlikely to be a serious target for Borussia Dortmund this summer.

That's according to BILD, who want to pour cold water on the idea today after 'dividing fans' of the German club this week.

A report in England had stated that the 19-year-old Brighton midfielder was on Dortmund's list ahead of the summer as they plan something of a rebuild.

BILD explain that divided fans on social media, who were praising his 'dynamism and counter-pressing' but considered Brighton's reported s reported 42m asking price as too high.

The newspaper, though, wants to pour cold water on the idea anyway. They say that BVB fans shouldn't 'get their hopes up' about the youngster and there is several reasons why.

First and foremost is the fact that Fabian Hürzeler is a big fan of the player, promoting him when he arrived in the summer, while Brighton won't let him go 'without a fight'. Then there is also potential competition from AC Milan and Swedish legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic pulling the strings.

He could tempt Ayari away from Dortmund and to Milan if the German side were to actually put themselves in the mix.

That's unlikely, though, as the Bundesliga side currently have six central midfielders on their books for next season. They've also made signing Chelsea loanee Carney Chukwuemeka a priority and are closely monitoring the development of homegrown player Kjell Wätjen.

Thus, they don't particularly need the Brighton man, particularly at the sums quoted, and any transfer effort is unlikely unless there is a major change to their plans.
