Brighton player 'has had his bags packed for 2 weeks' as contradictory claims made on future

Brighton and Hove Albion defender Valentin Barco 'has had his bags packed for 2 weeks' ready to return to the club from an unsuccessful loan spell at Sevilla.
That's according to Estadio Deportivo, who say the player and the Spanish club are both waiting for his loan deal to be cancelled.
The newspaper reports that Brighton and Sevilla have 'everything arranged' for the defender to return to the club this month and bring his unsuccessful loan spell to an end.
The plan had seemingly been that he would be heading to Porto but that has now been denied in Portugal, where they're insisting there is no interest in him at all. That's then led to speculation he could end up back at former club Boca Juniors.
The latter would be surprising given the manner in which he left the club and the public war of words with Roman Riquelme in the period after he left for Brighton last year.
It's all become rather contradictory and with nothing actually happening, Barco has been left in Sevilla with his bags packed, waiting for Brighton to work something out.
It seems nobody actually wants the defender at this moment in time, a far cry from a year ago when Brighton were perceived as pulling out a coup by getting him from Boca.
