'Brilliant': Darren Bent says Fulham ace has been one of the PL's best players so far this season

Fulham have enjoyed a solid start to the Premier League season, sitting in eighth place going into the October international break.

The Cottagers have only lost two games in the least so far this term, against Manchester United and Manchester City.

Indeed, Fulham gave a good account of themselves against Pep Guardiola’s charges, taking the lead and only losing 3-2 in the end.

As a result, one Cottagers player has made the cut in Darren Bent’s team of the season so far.

Darren Bent hails Fulham’s Antonee Robinson

The player in question is Antonee Robinson, who has gone from strength to strength at Fulham since his 2020 move from Wigan.

Robinson has played every minute of Fulham’s Premier League campaign this season and has registered two assists in the process.

Bent, speaking on talkSPORT, named the 27-year-old in his team of the season so far, alongside the likes of Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka and Erling Haaland.

"Left-back, I am going Antonee Robinson for Fulham,” he said. Fulham currently ninth in the league.

“I think he has been brilliant, that pace going up and down forward.

“Fulham have got off to a really good start. I am putting him in the team. Antonee Robinson – two assists."

When could Robinson next be in action?

Robinson has been called up to the United States national side for their friendlies against Panama and Mexico on Sunday 13 October and Wednesday 16 October.

After the international break, Fulham return to action on Saturday 19 October with a Premier League home game against Aston Villa in a 3pm kick-off.
