Man United captain Bruno Fernandes has taken to social media to show his support for teammate Mason Mount after his recent injury.

The 25-year-old was forced off after just 14 minutes in Man United’s last-gasp 2-1 win over bitter rivals Man City in the previous round of fixtures, taking to Instagram to address the fans regarding the setback.

Mount had featured in all seven games under Ruben Amorim having previously had a spell on the sidelines with a head injury sustained in their 3-0 defeat to Tottenham.

Speaking in his press conference after their more recent 4-3 League Cup defeat to Tottenham on Thursday (December 19), Amorim confirmed Mount will be out for "several weeks."

Amorim added: "I don't know the exact date, but it's going to be for long. And that's it, it's part of football, and you continue."

The attacking midfielder has failed to make an impact at Old Trafford since his move from boyhood club Chelsea in the summer of 2023, with recurring injury problems causing him to miss 30 games since joining.

Mount has managed just 33 appearances across all competitions, contributing one goal and one assist in 1159 minutes of action, with only one full 90-minute performance under his belt.
