Carlos Soler issues 'deserved' claim to West Ham fans after Aston Villa draw

West Ham midfielder Carlos Soler has posted a message to West Ham fans after their draw with Aston Villa.
The Spaniard, on-loan from Paris Saint-Germain, played 75 minutes in the Hammers 1-1 draw on Sunday (26 January).
Villa made a flying start to the match, Jacob Ramsey showed good strength to hold off Vladimir Coufal as he slid his effort past Alphonse Areola in the eighth minute.
West Ham would get their equaliser in the 70th minute, after Emerson Palmieri went completely unnoticed, and unmarked, at the back post and headered past Emi Martinez.
The game was a feisty affair with referee, Peter Bankes, seemingly keen on letting the game flow as much as possible.
Unfortunately for Villa, captain Tyrone Mings went off injured and posted an update on his Instagram the day after the game.
West Ham need better performances from Soler because of missing key players
The Spaniard had a shot cleared off the line by Ezri Konsa in the 61st minute, but struggled to have an impact on the match.
Since joining from PSG in the Summer, Soler has struggled for form. In 18 matches for the Hammers, he has started 10, scoring once, and assisting once.
Winger Jarrod Bowen and striker Michail Antonio are both sidelined with injuries currently, and new manager Graham Potter will be relying on players like Soler to step-up in their absence.
Soler shared his frustrations at the result on Instagram, saying: “A point earned in a game where we felt we deserved more. We keep building! Massive thanks to the Hammers who came out to support us!”
The Hammers’ next game will be a London derby at Stamford Bridge, as they play Chelsea on 3 February.
In other news, Lucas Paqueta has been accused of “cheating” by Keith Hackett.
