As is often the case at Tottenham Hotspur when playing in N17, Spurs came from behind to record a confidence-restoring win against West Ham United last weekend.

Were it not for a poor second half against Brighton & Hove Albion just before the break, Tottenham's season would probably be being spoken about in a different light right now.

Barring the Brighton collapse, which can't be ignored entirely, Spurs would be on a considerable winning run, having only otherwise lost to Newcastle United and Arsenal.

As it stands Tottenham are in seventh place in the Premier League after eight games have been played, a platform they can certainly build from.

Spurs will probably consider that they have three winnable fixtures in the league before the November international break, and Ange Postecoglou will be determined to begin a surge up the table.

Dejan Kulusevski praised for crucial display in Tottenham’s comeback vs West Ham

Of course, there's currently a delicate situation unfolding with James Maddison at Tottenham.

Dejan Kulusevski is having a superb season centrally for Spurs, and Maddison doesn't necessarily have the legs to sit deeper in midfield, even if he is brilliant at distributing the ball.

That being said, Kulusevski is a real asset for Tottenham right now, explaining why Alan Shearer has included the Swede in his Team of the Week.

The winger made Shearer's eleven alongside Yves Bissouma, who the pundit also considered to be in top form.

Explaining Kulusevski's involvement, Shearer said: "He continued his terrific form, causing havoc and getting on the scoresheet. The best player on the pitch.”

Yves Bissouma also vital for Spurs moving forward

As mentioned, Shearer also included Bissouma in his team, who has become a vital cog in Postecoglou's system.

Especially in the first half against West Ham, Bissouma was essentially playing as a single-pivot, a role also performed by Rodrigo Bentancur on occasion.

But after Postecoglou immediately subbed on Pape Matar Sarr for the second half, we also saw Bissouma's composure in front of goal.

Shearer described it as an 'all-action display', one that was made possible by Postecoglou's quick thinking at half-time.

And it certainly feels as if this Spurs team will continue to change and evolve across the season, a side yet to reach their full potential.
