AS Roma’s Mile Svilar has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs in recent weeks and Chelsea have now emerged as yet another potential suitor.
The goalkeeper has become a key part of the Roman club's starting eleven over the past year, having played 42 times in all competitions this season.
The 25-year-old's current deal at the Stadio Olimpico runs out in the summer of 2027 and there’s been speculation about a new deal.
Corriere della Sera have reported about his future in Rome, claiming that Chelsea and Bayern Munich are interested in signing him and are a lingering threat.
As of now, the goalkeeper’s entourage wants €4m per season in a new contract, likely to be after tax, with Roma yet to reach that mark.
There is a good relationship between the two parties but the report believes that Chelsea can test Svilar’s loyalty.
Having said that, so much of this seems to be a tactic used by the player’s agents to get exactly the deal they want. Considering how West Ham and Bournemouth have been linked with the goalkeeper, Svilar’s entourage may be putting pressure on Roma to accept their demands for the new contract.
