Chelsea are continuing to follow a striker who has been a target for them since the summer with Enzo Maresca keen to bolster his attacking options.

Nicolas Jackson’s form has blown hot and cold this season and the West London club will want a more reliable source of goals.

The Blues have drawn up a list of targets and they will attempt to see if any of those players are available in January, although moves in the summer seem more likely.

Chelsea tracking Victor Osimhen, Liam Delap and Benjamin Sesko

Chelsea are continuing to track Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, meanwhile, Liam Delap and Benjamin Sesko are also of strong interest, according to Matt Law.

The Chelsea journalist has revealed that the £50m striker remains on the Blues’ list of striker targets from the summer.

When asked about Chelsea’s list of striker targets, Law told the London Is Blue Podcast: “I think people (at Chelsea) like Sesko and Delap. I don’t really see why Osimhen would have disappeared off it.”

Sesko and Delap look to be the two hottest names Chelsea are following with Enzo Maresca being familiar with the latter having worked with him at Man City.

“Chelsea are tracking them for sure, particularly Sesko and Delap. If Chelsea believe a deal is possible in January or if another club makes progress, Chelsea may move; otherwise, it could be done in the summer,” added Law.

What John Obi Mikel said about Victor Osimhen’s failed Chelsea move

Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel claims that Osimhen came very close to signing for Chelsea last summer.

The striker wanted to sign for the West London club and a comprise was found, however, a deal just simply ran out of time to get done.

Obi Mikel told The Obi One Podcast: “I know what Victor wanted, I know what the club offered him, I know where we got to, we finally got to a compromise, both sides had to compromise, it was just some little things here and there, paperwork, medical, and a few issues we just couldn't get over the line and we didn't have much time.

“Both sides really played their part in terms of getting the deal done, and I commend Chelsea for that because I can see their ambition of where they want to take this club now and also on Victor's side, how much he really wanted to come to the club.”
