Chelsea fans have just been informed about Victor Osimhen’s new release clause at Napoli and have been giving their reaction to making a potential move.

Chelsea came close to signing Osimhen last summer, however, the deal fell apart on deadline day and he ended up signing for Galatasaray.

Manchester United are also keen on Osimhen with the striker expected to leave the Italian club in the summer as he continues to impress in Turkey.

Now, the two Premier League clubs have been made aware of how much they could sign him for next summer and the Blues’ fans have been reacting.

Chelsea learn Victor Osimhen’s summer release clause

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Victor Osimhen will have a new release clause in the summer worth around £63-66 million.

Napoli are ready to sell the striker and he is keen to leave the Italian club once his loan spell with Galatasaray is over at the end of the season.

Romano told his YouTube channel: “Osimhen’s contract with Napoli is valid until 2026. In the summer, he will return to Napoli from Galatasaray and Napoli will not keep the player – they want to sell him and Osimhen wants to be sold.

“The contract of Osimhen includes an extension of the clause in case Napoli doesn’t sell the player by the end of June, by July 1 the clause of Victor Osimhen will be around 75-80 million euros.”

Chelsea react to Victor Osimhen’s release clause

Chelsea fans are keen for the West London club to consider triggering Osimhen’s release clause when it becomes active in the summer.

Chelsea have been urged to sign a new striker with Nicolas Jackson struggling for consistency having failed to score in the eight league matches before he suffered a hamstring injury.

Enzo Maresca’s are linked with Viktor Gyokeres and Liam Delap but supporters seem keen on a move for Osimhen and have shared that view on X.

One fan said: “He’s a proper experienced striker that can lead from the front and takes the pressure off of Palmer please bring him.”

“Been watching him all season, best striker option for Chelsea in my opinion. Unlike what some people think, the Turkish league is not easy and very physical. He’s doing really well there,” added another.

Finally, another supporter said: “I wasn't a fan of Osimhen playing for Chelsea but I'd rather play 75m release clause than pay £40-50m for Delap.”
