Chelsea played out a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace in Saturday’s Premier League encounter at Selhurst Park.

The Blues are now winless in four games after Jean-Philippe Mateta equalised late on to cancel out Cole Palmer’s 14th-minute opener.

Chelsea’s opener came as Jadon Sancho drove down the left flank and picked out Palmer, who controlled the ball and slotted past Dean Henderson.

But in the 82nd minute, Eberechi Eze delivered a nicely-timed ball inside the box for Mateta, who showed great composure to fire past Robert Sanchez.

Crystal Palace wing-back Daniel Munoz delivered a particularly impressive display that led to Chelsea fans commenting on him during the game.

Chelsea fans impressed and concerned by Crystal Palace ace Daniel Munoz

Chelsea fans took to X throughout the match to express their concerns over how Munoz was causing havoc against their players.

One supporter wrote in the first half: “One issue about that half is Munoz is getting too much space out wide.

Another fan said: “Munoz has been dangerous at that right wing. Cucurella really needs to stop giving him more space to breathe.”

There were more concerns as one fan wrote: “How many times are we going to let Munoz have a free roam of our left hand side?”

Another added: “Who is marking this Munoz and Sarr double team. They’re killing us on that right side.”

One fan messaged the Blues account to say: “We have to cage that Munoz in second half because of his crosses.”

And one Chelsea supporter even described Munoz as “the best RB in the league”.

What Oliver Glasner said about Munoz performance

Palace boss Oliver Glasner told Sky Sports after the game: “Daniel Munoz, especially in the second half, with his runs…

“I think before the goal it was the fourth or fifth ball he was winning in the opposite half.

“With his passion, his intensity and his playing, he is very important to us.”

Meanwhile, 90Min noted how Munoz and Tyrick Mitchell rose to the occasion against Chelsea.

‘The opening stages were dominated by Chelsea’s wingers, who pinned Palace back and made light work of the Eagles’ back line before the half-time whistle,’ they wrote.

‘As the clock ticked on, however, the narrative began to change.

‘Left-back Tyrick Mitchell enjoyed his battle with Pedro Neto and could argue he won the duel in the second half, while on the other side, Daniel Munoz turned into an absolute monster going forwards.

‘The pair asked questions of Chelsea, with Munoz’s direct runs proving particularly challenging. The Colombia international will be frustrated not to have picked up at least one assist.’
