Chelsea man can become a topic for club again in summer after DoF spoke to him in January

Bayern Munich could revive their interest in Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku after speaking to the player on the phone in the January transfer window.

That's according to BILD, who cover a long list of strikers being looked at by Bayern as they seek a back up to Harry Kane this summer.

The newspaper explains that Bayern are currently dependent on Tottenham buying Mathys Tel as they seek an alternative option to Kane.

That's not stopped them from drawing up a list of options and BILD report Nkunku could still become an option for them.

Bayern Munich chief Christopher Eberl already spoke to the Chelsea forward on the phone in the January transfer window, but the deal was unaffordable at the time. The interest could be revived, although there is a sense he would be a secondary option.

Nkunku would presumably welcome the departure as he's out of the picture at Chelsea and has been linked with a move away for months. The move to Stamford Bridge is one that hasn't worked out for him, albeit somewhat because of injuries.

It all depends on Tottenham buying Tel anyway, which is yet to be decided, but Nkunku is very much on Bayern's list after that January phone call.
