'Chelsea's Jadon Sancho intentions emerge as Man United expect same outcome'

Chelsea have indicated their intentions clear about the permanent signing of Jadon Sancho after the emergence of a £5million compensation payment to send him back to Man United.
The Blue’s agreed a deal to sign Sancho on loan from Man United last summer, after the 24-year-old fell out of favour under former boss Erik Ten Hag, with an obligation to buy if they finished above 14th.
Many fans believed that by moving to the club Sancho supported growing up, it could act as the catalyst to rekindle his form at Borussia Dortmund.
The England international made a bright start to life in London having created the winner on his first start at Bournemouth, and claiming assists in his next two games.
Perhaps his best month was in December, as Sancho found his scoring form, netting in successive victories against Southampton and Tottenham.
However, since then he has fallen back into old habits, having failed to score or assist in 18 games across all competitions, and in doing so could tempt Chelsea into triggering Sancho’s return clause fee.
Chelsea plan to complete permanent deal
According to BBC Sport the word coming out of Chelsea is that they still plan to complete the signing, and won’t pay the penalty fee, while Man United reportedly expect the same still.
With the initial loan including no upfront fee and Chelsea covering only half of Sancho’s wages, at the time it seemed a shrewd piece of business at Stamford Bridge.
On the surface It was a deal with little financial implications and potentially huge benefits, provided Sancho was given the game time to make an impact.
However, 1,433 minutes later in the Premier League and Sancho has an underwhelming two goals and four assists across his 23 appearances.
Chelsea have accumulated just 18 points from their last 14 league games and the situation would have looked far worse had it not been for home wins against all but relegated Southampton and Leicester in recent times.

Man United stand to win with Sancho sale
Football Insider verdict
At this moment, it looks like Manchester United will be getting the better end of the deal as with financial issues of their own, getting Sancho’s huge wages off their bill for next season can only been seen as a positive.
However, in the unlikely event that he does return to Manchester United, it would give the club a difficult situation to navigate.
Sancho’s contract expires at the end of next season, therefore the club would need to decide whether to sanction an immediate sale to another club or whether to trigger the additional year on his contract which runs until 2026.
If United decide to keep hold of Sancho, they risk losing their £73m investment from Borussia Dortmund [Sky Sports] on a free transfer.
However, for the remainder of the season, Chelsea’s and Maresca’s focus will be on trying to get the best out of Sancho before making their final decision.
