Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has shared a message on social media to Pervis Estupinan ahead of two upcoming clashes between the two players in February.

Caicedo faced criticism in the early months of his Chelsea career, thanks mostly to the exorbitant price-tag hanging over his head, but he has found his feet for the Blues and established himself as one of their most consistent players.

The Ecuadorian has defined his role in the Chelsea midfield as an all-action ball-winner, doing the defensive work for more offensive players like Cole Palmer.

Estupinan has been performing similarly well this season, appearing in 18 of Brighton’s league games, notching one assist.

The two international teammates are set to meet in back-to-back games in February, once in the FA Cup (8 February) and once in Premier League (14 February), both games will be massive for Chelsea as they look to get their title-charge back on course after faltering over Christmas.

The Blues managed to bounce back against Wolves on Monday (20 January) winning 3-1 in a match that saw Tosin Adarabioyo score his first Premier League goal for the club.

However, Caicedo put the rivalry between the two teams to one side to wish Estupinan a Happy Birthday on his Instagram story saying: “Feliz cumpleanos hermanito, Dios te bendiga siempre Te quiero mucho” which translates to “Happy birthday little brother, God bless you always, I love you very much.”

Chelsea will head to Manchester next as they face off against the reigning Premier League champions Man City on 25 January.

The Blues have been linked with a move for Marc Guehi in the January transfer window.

In other news, Renato Veiga could be headed for a January exit.
