David Ornstein of The Athletic has revealed that Chelsea could terminate Sancho's loan deal with Manchester United for just £5 million, should they decide not to activate the £25 million obligation to buy him at the end of the season.

Ornstein also reported that despite the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Sancho's future, the relationship between the player and Chelsea remains "strong” and that the club’s intention to pursue a new winger in the summer is more to do with Mykhailo Mudryk's current uncertain situation.

Chelsea fans were initially impressed with Sancho earlier in the season and his instant impact, generating a great deal of optimism.

However, he has failed to maintain that form, having not scored since December and registering only one assist in 2025 so far.
