Tottenham and Arsenal had conflicting results this weekend to say the least.

Arsenal's slump continued as they lost 1-0 to Newcastle at St James' Park, while Tottenham put in a statement performance against Aston Villa with a 4-1 win.

Tottenham are now breathing down Arsenal's necks in the Premier League table.

Speaking on BBC 606, Chris Sutton has been reviewing the two clubs' performances this weekend, and he raised an interesting point.

Robbie Savage asked Sutton whether he'd rather have a Tottenham season ticket or an Arsenal season ticket at the moment, and the pundit says that he'd much rather watch Spurs as they bring greater entertainment value these days.

Tottenham are more entertaining than Arsenal

Sutton shared his verdict on the two north London clubs.

Indeed, the pundit says that he'd much rather watch Spurs than Arsenal, claiming that the Gunners are way too pragmatic.

"Well, thank God for Spurs, Rob. I mean, the only entertainers, they were brilliant, weren’t they, against Aston Villa? Angeball at its best," Sutton said.

"Leading scorers now in the Premier League. Won nine out of the last 11. You know, you have people complaining about Spurs.

"There’s nothing wrong with Spurs, Rob. Absolutely sensational performance.

"I’ll tell you what, would you rather have a season ticket then at Spurs where they possibly won’t win anything, or Arsenal where they got a chance of winning something?" Savage asked.

Did you watch Arsenal play? Who is the better watch? 100%, I would rather have a Spurs season ticket than an Arsenal one. Arsenal don’t, they’re too pragmatic, Rob."

Are Arsenal too boring?

Sutton says that Arsenal are too pragmatic, but the numbers would suggest otherwise.

Arsenal are the fifth-highest scorers in the Premier League this season, and they've scored as many goals as teams like Brighton and Aston Villa who are consistently heralded for their entertaining styles of play.

Arsenal scored 91 goals last season, that is quite the opposite of pragmatism.

Arsenal's games vs Tottenham are often the most entertaining games the Premier League has to offer, and Arsenal's attacking talent has been shining this season.

Bukayo Saka has been described as 'phenomenal' this term, and while Arsenal are slightly less fluid in the absence of Martin Odegaard, they're far from being this boring, defensive side they're being made out to be.

Don't be shocked if Arsenal do end up being one of the Premier League's top-scoring teams again this season.
