Chris Wood has sent a message to Nottingham Forest fans as their astonishing Premier League campaign continued by taking a point against Liverpool.
Forest and Liverpool shared the spoils on Tuesday (14 January) after a 1-1 draw at the City Ground as Wood's sixth-minute goal proved not to be enough as Diogo Jota equalised in the second half.
The draw did push Forest above Arsenal into second place though, keeping their Premier League title dreams alive as they continue to be the surprise package of the season.
Nuno Espirito Santo's side are currently six points behind Liverpool in the table after 21 games, and Wood's firepower has been a big factor in that.
The 33-year-old scored his 13th goal of the season for Forest in the Premier League against Arne Slot's men, as he continues to be a significant attacking threat.
Wood reflected on the game via an Instagram post where he said, "A big contest that we take a point from. Reds fans were immense from start to finish tonight."
Chris Wood's Nottingham Forest future remains unclear
Wood has been a pivotal part of Forest's success this season, but his long-term future at the football club remains up in the air.
The New Zealand international is out of contract at the end of the season and is currently able to negotiate with foreign teams over a pre-contract agreement.
Wood will be looking to continue adding to his goals when Forest are back in action on Sunday (19 January) against Southampton.
