Arsenal secured their first European win of the season with a comfortable 2-0 result against French giants PSG.

Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka’s goals in the opening half was enough for the Gunners to secure all three points as Arsenal were hardly tested by PSG at the Emirates Stadium, with the north London side in complete control.

With Frank Lampard hailing Havertz for his performance, the Germany international once again led the line superbly for Arsenal, with the former Chelsea star flourishing as Mikel Arteta’s main man in the attack.

And former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez was also impressed with what he saw from Havertz.

Kai Havertz praised after ‘clever’ Arsenal performance vs PSG

Speaking to UEFA, the Spanish manager commented on how he impressed he was with how Havertz used his movement to find the right spaces in PSG’s defence to cause chaos against the French side, with the attacker rewarded with the opening goal of the game.

Benitez said about Havertz: “When Arsenal were building attacks, he was finding clever movements to go to the right place to have a chance to finish. He’s not a striker that will stay in the box but, after that, he still tries to get into the box to finish, which is what you have to do as a striker.”

With five goals already in all competitions this season for Arsenal, Havertz is once again showing why he is one of Arteta’s most important players in the attack, with the former Chelsea man unstoppable in north London last night.

And with some key games coming up for Arsenal, Havertz will once again be crucial in the Gunners’ quest to win the Premier League and to compete for silverware, something the German will be craving under Arteta.

Havertz can lead Arsenal to glory at last this season

Havertz is enjoying his best football yet at Arsenal in what is now his second season with the club, with the German fully completing his redemption arch and now rightly considered as one of the Premier League’s most unique profiles.

And this year, Havertz has the potential to lead Arsenal to glory, with the versatile attacking midfielder showing he can do a real job in the front-line when called upon whilst also do the dirty work in the defence if needed.

And Havertz’s performance against PSG showed just how much the Arsenal star wants to succeed this season, with the Gunners intent on finally winning the Premier League and ending Manchester City’s dynasty in English football once and for all.
