'Clunky': Chris Sutton says what Tottenham's 'big worry' is right now after injury strikes

Tottenham Hotspur played out an entertaining 2-2 draw against Roma in the group stages of the UEFA Europa League.
Ange Postecoglou’s side took the lead twice through Son Heung-min and Brennan Johnson, but the away side equalised through Evan N’Dicka and Mats Hummels, with the latter scoring in stoppage time to give his side a precious point.
Tottenham won’t lose too much sleep as they are still well-positioned to qualify and will look ahead to their Premier League clash against Fulham.
And Chris Sutton feels their recent injury woes could catch up with them in the upcoming weekend.
Chris Sutton suggests ‘clunky’ Fraser Forster could cost Tottenham
Guglielmo Vicario has undergone ankle surgery after Tottenham’s 4-0 thrashing of Manchester City and will be out of action for the foreseeable future.
In his absence, Fraser Forster is set to deputise between the sticks, with the experienced goalkeeper starting the 2-2 draw against Roma.
Sutton feels Forster’s lack of quality on the ball could be a big problem for Tottenham in the upcoming weeks, although he did acknowledge the fact that he’s an experienced goalkeeper who can get the job done.
“I love watching Tottenham and what they do,” wrote Sutton in his column for BBC.
“They were missing Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero against Manchester City last week but went to Etihad Stadium, played brilliantly and kept a clean sheet too.”
“The big worry for Spurs is that Guglielmo Vicario got injured in that game. Fraser Forster is an excellent goalkeeper who has had a great career but he is not renowned for being brilliant with his feet.
“Forster can appear a bit clunky on the ball, a little bit like I did when I played for Chelsea, and that could be an issue because of the way Ange Postecoglou wants Spurs to play.”
Who else is injured for Tottenham?
Wilson Odobert, Richarlison and Vicario are long-term absentees and are unlikely to feature this year, while Mikey Moore is ill and should return to the matchday squad in the coming days.
Van de Ven has a hamstring problem but is likely to return in mid-December, while Cristian Romero is edging closer to making his return after stepping up his comeback from a toe injury.
Tottenham could change their January transfer window plans after Vicario’s injury and it remains to be seen if they dip into the market for potential reinforcements midway through the season.
