Liverpool have a number of seriously underrated players in their squad.
Glen Johnson stated last season that Alexis Mac Allister is the most underrated player in the Premier League, while Owen Hargreaves stated last month that Diogo Jota is one of the most underrated finishers around.
"I think Jota is one of the most underrated players in the league, in terms of finishing. He is a great finisher in front of goal. What a ball this is with his weaker left foot. He stands it up for Konate. The one thing you would say about Liverpool is that they have size on their side," Hargreaves said.
Wataru Endo has also been called underrated in the past.
It's fair to say that Liverpool have some individual talents who don't get the credit they necessarily deserve, and speaking to Goal on TikTok, Cody Gakpo has named Curtis Jones as a player he believes is severely underestimated.
Cody Gakpo says Curtis Jones is underrated
Gakpo was playing a game of word association when he played Jones a compliment.
Gakpo was asked to think of a player who is underrated, and Jones as the first player who came to mind.
"Goalscorer?"" Gakpo was asked.
"Cristiano Ronaldo," Gakpo said.
"Underrated?"
"Curtis Jones," Gakpo said.
"Speed?"
"Mbappe," Gakpo said.
"Scary?"
"Rudiger," Gakpo said.
What Curtis Jones has said about Cody Gakpo
Gakpo is seemingly a big fan of Jones as a player, and these two seemingly really get on behind the scenes.
Indeed, while Jones recently had a go at Gakpo on the pitch, they have a good relationship behind-the-scenes.
Jones has previously remarked on how much he likes Gakpo, stating that everyone in the squad loves him.
"I call him Gakkers, that's the name that needs to stick with him. Cody just came in and everyone loved him when he came in, he's the most polite lad, but he's hilarious. There was a time he was going on about my accent, saying Curtis's accent is strong and I said 'shut up you Gakkers!' And it just stuck," Jones said.
Liverpool have one of the most talented squads in the Premier League, and they also have one of the most well-bonded teams too.
Everyone at Liverpool just seems to get along, and that chemistry has helped them to the top of the Premier League this season.
