Cole Palmer has been the central figure to everything that has been positive about Chelsea since he joined the club, but question marks are being raised about him after a drop-off in goal contributions.

The England international is currently in the midst of his first real tough spell individually since he made the move to Stamford Bridge and blew people away.

Palmer has failed to provide a goal or an assist since Chelsea's 2-2 draw against Bournemouth on January 14 in what has been a dry period in terms of his output.

The former Man City star has even addressed this himself, with Palmer telling fans he "will be back," making it clear he's aware of his own blip in form.

The 22-year-old is under a long-term deal at Chelsea until 2033, but the possibility of another season without Champions League football has led to comments about how long he'll be willing to stick around.

The Blues are currently fourth in the Premier League table, but they will drop out of that if Newcastle win their game in hand.

Paul Scholes believes Cole Palmer 'needs challenging'

During the latest episode of Stick To Football, Paul Scholes discussed Palmer's recent form and questioned if his current setting is a reason for him not delivering.

He said, "I've felt for a while that for Cole Palmer, it's almost been too easy for him to play in that Chelsea team, he knows he'll play every week and be the best player.

Chelsea fans say the same thing about Cole Palmer

Palmer's influence on the Chelsea team since he joined the club is undeniable, with the attacking midfielder having carried them to some significant wins.

However, some fans are claiming he "plays like he doesn't care" as others admit there's "no pressure" on anyone at the club to deliver as fears that he might leave continue to rise.
