Arsenal might be looking to add new players this month but it looks like they could lose star midfielder Jorginho with clubs in South America looking to snap up the former Chelsea man.

Jorginho started Arsenal’s clash with Man United at the weekend and was only taken off deep into extra-time as the game approached penalties.

Mikel Arteta has spoken of his admiration for Jorginho once again this season but with no new contract in sight, a move in the summer is possible.

And now, according to journalist Rudy Galetti, Brazilian club Flamengo have made their move.

Flamengo open fresh talks to sign Arsenal midfielder Jorginho

Taking to X to provide an update on the situation with Jorginho, journalist Rudy Galetti has now claimed that he’s had it confirmed that Flamengo have initiated fresh talks with the Italian midfielder.

And while no formal offer has come forward, the Brazilian outfit are keen to tempt Jorginho.

Arsenal paid £12m to sign Jorginho from Chelsea in 2023 and he has been a crucial squad player ever since.

However, he could now walk away for nothing.

Jorginho may have already had his head turned

Interest in Jorginho is nothing brand new for Arsenal and with the January window in full flow, he was always going to be the subject of interest.

Indeed, it was only a month or so ago that reports claimed that Jorginho was already tempted to join Besiktas in Turkey.

Now, with another apparent offer on the table, it seems that Jorginho could be left with a big decision to make on his future.

Mikel Arteta is likely to want to keep him but with Jorginho now 33, this decision might be taken out of the Arsenal boss’s hands.
