Conor Bradley says Liverpool have a top talent in their ranks who's 'one of a kind'

Liverpool are spoilt for choice in quite a few positions in their team.

For instance, Liverpool have Alisson Becker- one of the best goalkeepers in the world – in between the sticks, and one of the best deputies in the Premier League in Caoimhin Kelleher.

Meanwhile, Arne Slot has Federico Chiesa, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo who he can call upon in attack in lieu of Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz.

Right-back is another somewhat tricky position for the Liverpool boss, who has Trent Alexander-Arnold as first-choice and Conor Bradley waiting in the wings.

Bradley has certainly had a 2024 to remember. He finally became a first-team regular at the start of the year, won his first piece of silverware, and is now a key option for Slot.

The 21-year-old has also come in leaps and bounds for Northern Ireland, twice captaining his nation during the October international break.

Bradley has now spoken to the Liverpool Echo about his journey so far, as well as what he wants to do going forward.

Bradley admits that Alexander-Arnold is pretty stiff competition, jokingly saying: “He’s not bad, is he?”

He continued: “Everybody knows how good Trent is. He’s one of a kind as a footballer.

“But my aim is the same as last season – whenever I get a chance to be on the pitch I’m going to do my best to help the team. It’s about winning the games and giving my all.

“I know I’ve got some decent competition. If I’m training well, hopefully it can push Trent on and that can only be good for the team.”

Latest on Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool future

While Bradley is currently second choice behind Alexander-Arnold at right-back, things could potentially change next year.

Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool future appears uncertain at present due to his Anfield contract expiring at the end of the season.

However, Liverpool sources have confirmed to TBR Football that they are highly confident the 26-year-old will put pen to paper before Christmas on his new deal.

TBR Football further understands that Alexander-Arnold told Liverpool that he wanted to wait until the opening months of the season to experience life under Arne Slot before deciding on his future.

Now, it's understood that Alexander-Arnold is a fan of Slot's style and has been impressed with how he has quickly taken control of the squad.

However, with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain all circling, a telling few weeks lie ahead for Liverpool.
