Corinthians scared off by €10m – Don't fancy Aston Villa transfer battle

On Monday, we covered a claim from Portugal that Aston Villa are interested in Andrés García.
The 21-year-old plays as a right-back for Levante, has started every league tie this season and contributed to six goals [three goals and three assists] for the second division Spanish club.
Portuguese interest was because Sporting CP are keen on the youngster as they look to add a fullback before the end of this month. The report also explained both Sevilla and Real Betis are interested in García, and the interest from Aston Villa was taken seriously.
It clearly looked like Monchi driven interest from the Premier League club, and the situation had a little update overnight.
Wednesday’s edition of O Jogo carries claims from El Chiringuito and elsewhere, and Aston Villa interest is underlined.
Intriguingly, it’s claimed Brazilian club Corinthians have been in contact over signing García, but have been scared off by Levante demanding €10m for a move this month.
The claims on Tuesday stated Levante want €10m and García has a €12m release clause. Those figures don’t seem difficult for Aston Villa.
