Cristian Romero reacts on Instagram after another player leaves Tottenham and wins a trophy

Tottenham Hotspur haven’t won a trophy since 2008.
Spurs’ trophy drought is approaching 17 years, and that is not a good look at all. A club of the size of Tottenham must be challenging and winning more silverware.
What must be even more annoying for the supporters is the fact that many of their players have gone on to win trophies elsewhere after leaving them.
Luka Modric and Gareth Bale have been the most successful over the last 15 years, while there have been others who have got their hands on silverware too.
One player who Ange Postecoglou sold last summer has now just won a trophy.
Tottenham star Cristian Romero reacts after Emerson Royal wins the Supercoppa Italiana
Emerson Royal spent three years at Tottenham.
The Brazilian joined Spurs from Barcelona in the summer of 2021. He came in with a lot of hype after playing really well in Spain at Real Betis, but things didn’t quite go to plan in England.
Emerson played 101 games for Tottenham in all competitions, and he came under a lot of criticism in many of those games. The defender made several mistakes.
Spurs fans weren’t too sad when it emerged that he could leave last summer. AC Milan came in for him and after lengthy negotiations, he was sold.
Now, less than five months after joining the Rossoneri, Emerson helped them win the Supercoppa Italiana on Monday night.
AC Milan beat their fierce rivals Inter in the final, coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in second-half stoppage time. Emerson played 87 minutes of the game.
On Instagram, the Brazilian posted a picture with the trophy, and he received a lot of love from his teammates – past and present.
Cristian Romero was one of them, who replied: “Of course yes emeeeee!”
Check out how Richarlison, Davinson Sanchez and Rafael Leao reacted to his post:
What people have been saying about Emerson Royal at AC Milan
On his day, Emerson is a very good player, but the Brazilian has a few mistakes in him as well.
Tottenham fans saw him make plenty of errors during his time in North London, and he has made a few at Milan since joining them.
That has led to a ton of criticism. Fabio Capello claimed that he would’ve never signed Emerson for AC Milan. He just hasn’t been impressed with him.
Italian football expert James Horncastle blasted Milan for signing Emerson too. He labelled the money they spent on the Brazilian as the ‘biggest donation in the history of the Milan Foundation’.
Emerson has won a trophy, but he’s still not performing at the level required since leaving Tottenham.
