Alarm bells are ringing in the Colombian National Team after Crystal Palace's Daniel Muñoz was taken off injured in the defeat to Liverpool.

That's according to ESPN and AS, who both say there are initial fears the defender has picked up a tear of some sort.

ESPN cover the game first, which Liverpool won 1-0 thanks to Diogo Jota's first half strike. Their focus was on the clash of the Colombians, given Luis Diaz was coming up against Muñoz and Jefferson Lerma at Crystal Palace.

They explain that Muñoz 'fell to the floor' the 17th minute of the clash and was unable to continue, being replaced by Nathaniel Clyne. They say this was 'apparently due to a tear'.

AS don't give the same information and say his injury was only an 'apparent muscle injury' but the fact he could not continue is what 'worries' Colombia.

Zona Cero, meanwhile, say that official confirmation on the matter is still being waited on but 'it is believed to be a muscle tear' at this moment in time.

That will be a major blow for Colombia, who had called him up for the next international break. In fact, the Crystal Palace defender was set to travel to Cochabamba tomorrow to join the national team's training camp.

Whether that still happens remains to be seen, with it now a case of waiting to determine the extent of Muñoz's injury before a decision is made. The initial reaction from his country, though, is not a positive one.
