Daniel Farke only sealed promotion at Leeds United on Monday but is already facing shock speculation about his job ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

The Daily Mail have reported (23 April) that Leeds are considering making a stunning managerial change ahead of their return to the Premier League.

It is claimed that Whites chiefs have reservations over Farke’s ability to keep them in the division after his previous relegation with Norwich.

The Canaries dropped to the Championship with just 21 points in his first Premier League season – and was sacked in his second after leading them back to the top flight.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has had his say on when Farke could be sacked at Elland Road.

Farke deserves chance at Leeds, says Wyness

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, Wyness claimed Farke could keep Leeds up next season – but may need to be replaced if they are to “kick on” in the Premier League.

Farke failed to achieve promotion at the first attempt, losing in the play-off final against Southampton last year after finishing third in the Championship.

Wyness claimed he deserves to be given “£100-150million” in transfer backing by Leeds this summer.

He told Football Insider's Inside Track podcast: "This is a big debate right now.

"Farke and Scott Parker, are they right to keep their clubs in the Premier League?

"It all depends on what the clubs decide to do in terms of transfer business.

"When Farke went up with Norwich, he was only given £9million in money to spend – of course they came back down.

"If Leeds give it a good go, with £100-150million, then why not? He understands the club, the squad – I think he's a reasonably good manager.

"It's one thing to get up, you now need a squad to stay up – and then a squad to kick on.

"There's three developments with how this is done. Farke is capable of one and two, and I think he's the right person to do that.

"Is he right to take Leeds to the next level after staying up? That's where I have the question mark.

"I think he can keep them up if he's given the right backing."

Leeds will return to the Premier League after a two-year absence.

Leeds appoint new transfer guru

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (23 April) that Leeds head of football operations Adam Underwood will take charge of the club's transfers this summer.

The 43-year-old is poised to widen his role at Elland Road as a defacto sporting director with Nick Hammond expected to leave the club to join Everton.

Leeds secured promotion after beating Stoke City 6-0 on Monday (21 April) and Sheffield United dropped points away at Burnley.
