Leeds United look set to seal their first signing of the summer.

In somewhat bittersweet circumstances, Joe Rodon is set to return to Elland Road as a makeweight in the deal that will see Archie Gray join Tottenham Hotspur.

Rodon, of course, spent last season on loan at Leeds, having a very successful time of it at Elland Road.

However, Rodon isn't the only Spurs player Daniel Farke would be keen on bringing in.

Indeed, speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Alasdair Gold has been discussing the idea of Oliver Skipp leaving Spurs, and he's claimed that Daniel Farke would love to sign the Tottenham midfielder for Leeds after working with him at Norwich City.

Daniel Farke would love Oliver Skipp

Gold spoke about Skipp's future, claiming that Farke would like him at Leeds.

"We mention Oliver Skipp. It doesn't seem as though he's involved in this deal in any way, although Daniel Farke would love to have him there after a terrific season with Norwich," Gold said.

"I get the sense that if Spurs were to allow him to go, Oliver Skipp, there would be Premier League clubs queueing up to take him."

Oliver Skipp's only Championship option

As Gold says, if Skipp were to leave Tottenham, he would surely look to join another Premier League club.

However, if there's any team in the Championship that could convince the midfielder to drop a level, it's Leeds.

Not only does the player know Daniel Farke very well from his time at Norwich, Leeds are arguably the biggest club in the Championship and one of the favourites for promotion after racking up more than 90 points in the Championship last season.

Skipp needs to think long-term, and perhaps one step backwards to make future steps forward could be a good idea.

Whether or not Leeds try to bring the Englishman to Elland Road remains to be seen, but this could be one to keep an eye on.
