Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz sent a message to Marc Guehi after scoring against Doncaster Rovers in the FA Cup.

Following a 2-0 victory over League Two opposition, Doncaster Rovers, in the FA Cup fourth round, the Eagles will face off against their London rivals, Millwall, in the next round.

Munoz opened the scoring for Palace in the 32nd minute, after Jean-Philippe Mateta‘s shot cannoned off the post, landing fortuitously at the feet of the Colombian, who tapped in from close range.

Munoz has been linked with a transfer from Crystal Palace to Barcelona or Man City, having quickly become one of the Premier League’s top right-backs since joining from Genk in January 2024.

In the 55th minute, Justin Devenny doubled the lead, with the youngster scoring his second goal for the Eagles this season, assisted by Will Hughes, who was rumoured to be joining Fulham from Crystal Palace in January.

Doncaster impressed against Premier League opposition, and were unfortunate not to at least score against the Eagles.

Daniel Munoz hails Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi

The Colombian defender posted an image on his Instagram story of himself high-fiving Guehi, captioned “Capitán [Captain]”, with a salute and bicep emoji.

Munoz has been a crucial figure under Oliver Glasner this season, starting in 23 of Palace’s 24 Premier League games this season.

The match against Doncaster was also notable as Ben Chilwell made his Crystal Palace debut, following a January switch from London rivals, Chelsea.

Crystal Palace aim to keep defensive stars Marc Guehi and Daniel Munoz despite interest

Guehi was the subject of a last-minute bid from Tottenham in the January transfer window.

However, Palace remain determined to keep their captain, with Chelsea recalling Trevoh Chalobah from his loan in January.

The Blues were another side keen to sign the England international in January, but any efforts made were rebuffed by Glasner’s side.

Chadi Riad, a signing from Real Betis in the summer, is also out injured for an extended period of time, leaving Palace light at the back.

Munoz has been attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in the world, and is likely to be the subject of a number of transfer bids this coming summer.
