Darwin Nunez reacts to message from exit-linked Liverpool ace Luis Diaz

03/27/2025 07:29 AM
Liverpool star Darwin Nunez reacted to a message from teammate Luis Diaz on social media amid transfer rumours linking both players with an Anfield exit this summer.
The Colombian winger has been a key part of Arne Slot’s side this season, as they look set to claim the Premier League title in the Dutch manager’s first season in charge.
The 28-year-old enjoyed a hot start to the season, but despite being the Reds’ second-highest goal-scorer, his performances have dipped, scoring just once in 2025.
This has led to concerns Liverpool are unhappy with Diaz and the winger has been linked with a move to Newcastle or Barcelona in the summer.
In spite of the transfer rumours, the Reds’ winger has not let them get in the way of performing well whilst on international duty.
Luis Diaz sends ‘battles’ message to fans
Following Colombia’s 2-2 draw with Paraguay in the South American World Cup qualifying stage, Diaz posted a series of photos in Instagram, captioned: “Faltan 4 batallas, vamos a lograrlo”.
Which translates to: “4 battles left, let’s get it”.
Colombia sit sixth in the South American group stage, which is the final spot that guarantees qualification to the 2026 World Cup in North America.
The post was then liked by Nunez who has also been linked with a Liverpool exit, as rumours swirl of a summer move to Atletico Madrid.
Liverpool set for summer squad revamp ahead of major exits
Football Insider Verdict
With Trent Alexander-Arnold now on his way to Real Madrid this summer, the first domino of Liverpool’s soon-to-be title-winning squad has fallen.
Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konate, Andy Robertson, Diaz and Nunez are just some of the squad members who have been strongly linked with an exit from Anfield.
In many ways, the squad feels akin to Man United‘s 2013 Premier League-winning squad, with both teams reaching their peak before being dismantled due to expiring contracts and ageing stars.

The challenge Slot will face will be to avoid the capitulation that followed in Manchester, with the Red Devils failing to win England’s top-flight since that season under Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Dutchman and his recruitment team have already identified a number of talented young-players to replace their current stars, with Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen linked with moves to Anfield.
