Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice had words for Harry Kane after his performance for England, with speculation over a controversial move to the Emirates continuing to grow.

Kane was on target once again for England, scoring in their 3-0 victory over Latvia in the latest round of World Cup qualifiers on 24 March.

Reece James had England fans baffled after his celebration following his brilliant free-kick opener, before Kane doubled the lead in the second half with a neat finish from a Rice assist. Eberechi Eze then wrapped up the win in style, scoring his first international goal with a superb solo effort.

Rice linking up with the Bayern Munich striker could become a regular sight if Arsenal push forward with their interest in him. Arsenal have been linked with an ambitious move to sign Kane, in an effort to solve their attacking struggles.

Mick Brown, former chief scout at Manchester United, revealed that Arsenal would need to hold behind-the-scenes talks with Kane before any formal approach to Bayern.

Despite the ongoing speculation, he remained focused on England duty and shared a message following the win over Latvia.

Arsenal face Liverpool and Man United battle for Harry Kane transfer

Kane shared a heartfelt message with fans on Instagram after England's 3-0 win, posting: "Two out of two! Loved every minute being back with the boys. Congrats James and Eze on scoring your first England goals!"

Rice, who assisted Kane's goal, responded in the comments with: "& again" referencing his link-up with the striker throughout the international break as he assisted both of his goals.

However, if Arsenal decide to pursue a deal for the former Tottenham captain, they will face fierce competition.

Football Insider revealed that Liverpool are currently leading the race to sign Kane, who is already eyeing a return to the Premier League.

This comes after Football Insider revealed that Man United's owners are pushing to sign Kane as they plan to make him their marquee signing.

Arsenal prioritise Alexander Isak as striker search continues

It's almost certain that the Gunners will sign a new striker this summer, and while Kane remains an option, Newcastle's Alexander Isak has emerged as Arsenal’s top priority.

The Swedish forward has netted 23 goals this season and provides the kind of focal point Mikel Arteta's side have lacked up front.

A move for Kane may seem unlikely due to his deep ties with Spurs and the intense competition for his signature, but one thing looks clear from the transfer speculation—a new number nine is set to lead the line at the Emirates next season.
