Diogo Jota pays tribute to Liverpool ace after major Nottingham Forest impact

Diogo Jota has sent a message to his teammate after the pair linked up to rescue Liverpool from defeat against Nottingham Forest.
With Arne Slot’s side trailing 1-0 at The City Ground on Tuesday night (14 January) the attacker was brought on with Kostas Tsimikas in a double substitution for the Premier League leaders.
That saw the pair make an instant impact for their side, with Tsimikas immediately sending a corner into the Forest area, that was headed home by Jota.
It was enough to earn Liverpool a point against the side who are now second in the Premier League table, ensuring the Anfield club have maintained a six-point lead in the standings.

After the game, Tsimikas had posted a picture on Instagram of himself and Jota celebrating the goal they linked up to score.
The Liverpool striker then reacted to that by sharing that image to his own Instagram story, along with an emoji of a brain flexing some biceps.
That may indicate that the connection between the two from the corner that led to the equaliser had been planned by the pair, suggesting the move had been thought through beforehand.
The Reds will look to continue their push for the Premier League title this weekend, when they travel to the G-Tech Community Stadium to take on Brentford.

An impact such as this from Jota and Tsimikas may well have given Slot something to think about when it comes to his Liverpool selections.
Andy Robertson has struggled at left-back at times this season, and with Tsimikas making such an impact so soon after replacing the Scot against Forest, he may have made a case for a starting spot.
Equally, Jota delivered a reminder of what a good finisher he is with this goal, and given how the Reds have stuttered in recent weeks, bringing his clinical instinct into the starting XI could also be tempting.
