Tottenham Hotspur's season isn't going to plan, that's for sure.

Indeed, Spurs sit eleventh in the Premier League table, and even the most pessimistic of Tottenham fans won't have expected this at the beginning of the campaign.

The wheels are starting to come off for Ange Postecoglou in north London, and while Postecoglou's job remains safe for now, questions will soon be asked if results don't improve soon.

Tottenham are one of the highest-scoring teams in the Premier League this season, netting 41 goals in 19 games, but, despite that, some of their attacking players haven't been at their best this season.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Troy Deeney has been discussing Spurs' season so far, and he says that he's been disappointed by Tottenham's attacking players, claiming that Heung-Min Son has been average this season so far.

Heung-Min Son has been average this season

Deeney shared his verdict on Tottenham's attacking prowess, and he had some criticism for a couple of players.

Deeney claimed that Son has been average this season, stating that the £22m man isn't as good as he usually is.

Meanwhile, Deeney noted that Dominic Solanke has simply been ok, noting that the club-record signing isn't setting the world alight.

"I've been a bit disappointed in the final third, their attacking third. Where are the goals coming from consistently? I think Son has been average this season by his standards, I think Solanke has been ok, but none of them have set the world alight. The best player for me throughout the course of this season has been Kulusevsk," Deeney said.

Deeney says that Son has been average this season, and the numbers suggest that the pundit is right.

As much of a legend as Son is, the attacker hasn't been at his best this season.

Son has scored just five goals in 16 appearances so far this season, and while his assist tally is healthy, his goalscoring rate isn't quite where you'd expect it to be.

Son is now 32 years old, so a slight regression is probably to be expected, and the attacker's future may now be up in the air.

Saudi clubs are keen on Son, while David Pleat believes it's time for Spurs to sell Son too.

The Korean has been a brilliant player for Spurs over the years, but, as Deeney says, his standards haven't been as high this season, and that's something that Tottenham may want to address sooner rather than later.
