Arsenal could do with some help in the January transfer window.

The Gunners have had plenty of problems this season. From controversial red cards to a number of injury issues – Mikel Arteta has had to endure a lot.

Arsenal are six points behind Liverpool already despite playing a game more. Now, Bukayo Saka is set to be out of action for over two months after undergoing surgery on his hamstring.

The North Londoners have to bring in a top-class attacker in the January transfer window to give themselves the best chance of challenging Liverpool.

Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested a player for Arsenal.

Gabriel Agbonlahor tells Arsenal to sign Alexander Isak in January

Alexander Isak has been a target for Arsenal for a long, long time.

The Gunners wanted to sign him when he was still at Real Sociedad a few years ago. They have kept an eye on him since he joined Newcastle United for £60 million (BBC), and their interest has not gone away.

Isak is having a phenomenal season. He has scored 12 times and provided four assists in all competitions including seven goals in his last five Premier League appearances.

Recently, Eddie Howe claimed that he wouldn’t swap Isak for any other player. That suggests that a January transfer is not likely to happen.

However, Agbonlahor still thinks Arsenal should do everything they can to land Isak before the winter window’s deadline on the 3rd of February.

Isak needs to move to a bigger club. Arsenal should do whatever it takes to sign him in January in my opinion, he said on X.

Arsenal’s concern about signing Isak

In an ideal world, Arsenal would love to sign Isak as soon as possible

However, the Swede would cost an outrageous amount of money in the January transfer window, and it’s unclear if the Gunners can splash big cash halfway through the season.

That is not the only problem – the Gunners have one major worry about Isak as well.

Reports have claimed that Arsenal are concerned about Isak’s injury history. The Swede has missed 38 games since the start of the 2022/23 campaign.

It remains to be seen if Arteta’s side will overcome that worry and make a bid for Isak in one of the next two transfer windows.
