For the first time in a while, Tottenham put in a solid all-round performance against the Reds, and they carry an advantage into the second-leg of their tie.

Antonin Kinsky earned praise after the game, but it was another young Spurs star who got most of the headlines.

Lucas Bergvall scored the winning goal for Tottenham, and he put in an incredible performance on Wednesday.

Ange Postecoglou hailed Bergvall after the game, and speaking to Hayters TV, Dominic Solanke has now reserved some special praise for the teenager.

Solanke spoke highly of Bergvall after the game.

The striker says that Bergvall has improved a lot since joining Spurs in the summer, and he made a prediction about the midfielder.

Indeed, Solanke says that he's sure that Bergvall will ultimately become a great player for Spurs.

"I just want to ask you about Lucas in the past six months. He came in as an 18 year old straight out of Sweden, what have you seen him change over the last six months?

"He's obviously matured and has learned a lot since he came in already, which is great, we want players like that here. He's showing that he's putting in some very good performances and he still has a lot to work and improve on, and I'm sure he'll be a great player for us,"

Solanke was clearly impressed by Bergvall's performance against Liverpool, and it's not hard to understand why.

Bergvall impressed against Newcastle at the weekend, and he was at it again against Liverpool in the cup.

The teenager's numbers in this game were incredible, the Swedish midfielder was constantly looking to make things happen on the ball, and this was a performance that showed maturity beyond his years.

Bergvall hasn't played all that much this season, but Ange Postecoglou may now be tempted to use the midfielder more and more.

Bergvall was tipped for big things when he arrived at Tottenham – Barcelona even wanted to sign him before he joined Spurs, and now, he's starting to show why he was thought to have so much potential.
