The EFL Cup quarter-finals kick-off on both Wednesday and Thursday evening ahead of a busy couple of weeks with the festive football fixtures.

The four sides selected are keen on a trophy this season and reaching the semi-finals not only presents their best chance for a trophy this season it’s a match that can pick up the confidence going into the new year.
Arsenal’s is high already as they sit third in the Premier League, but with a gap already present between them and the top of the table along with a tough run of games in the Champions League, they can look at this as their best chance.
The Gunners have a strong chance to progress as they face a Crystal Palace side still contending with a relegation battle while having a great defensive record, especially recently.
Brentford face a tough away clash at Newcastle, who are a great price to add to the EFL Cup acca.
The Magpies had gone on a great run of wins against Brentford until just over a week ago, when they lost 4-2 away from home.
Prior to that, they’d picked up five straight wins over Brentford including a 5-1 win and a 1-0 victory at home.
Newcastle haven’t lost at home to Brentford in any recent competitive fixture.
Liverpool are unstoppable this season and don’t look like faltering here either against the bottom of the Premier League table Southampton.
Meanwhile Tottenham take on Man United in a clash where both sides are very difficult to predict.
If Spurs come out and put a great display on like they have done in numerous games this season then they can certainly win over United.
