Nottingham Forest are returning from the latest international break following their first defeat of the season.

It had been a seriously impressive start for Forest prior to their defeat against Fulham at the City Ground.

Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side have already pulled off what is the surprise result of the season so far with their victory on the road to Liverpool.

The Reds are now sat in 10th spot of the Premier League table and only four points off the top four having played their opening seven games of the term.

This season will mark Nuno’s first full season at the City Ground – if he makes it all the way – having joined midway through the 2023/24 campaign.

And it is already looking like Evangelos Marinakis’ decision to appoint the former Tottenham Hotspur and Wolves manager is proving correct.

Crystal Palace looking to move on from Oliver Glasner

One of the real strugglers so far in the Premier League has been Crystal Palace which may come as a real surprise to some.

The Eagles ended last season on a rich vein of form following the appointment of Oliver Glasner back in February.

However, Palace have been unable to carry on their impressive form into the next term with the Eagles slumped inside the bottom three.

According to Caught Offside, Palace are now considering a change of manager with David Moyes being considered to replace the Austrian.

The south London side were the first club in the Premier League to provide Everton with their first win of the term as they await their own first victory.

With Palace sat on a mere three points – all coming from draws – Forest’s reported decision to snub Glasner before appointing Nuno is looking to be a great call from Marinakis.

Nuno Espirito Santo was the right man for Forest

Although Forest took until the final day of the season to secure their Premier League survival last term, the Reds have shown a lot of improvement over the summer.

Granted, Glasner’s side have seen some of their top players – like Michael Olise – sold in that time, but the Eagles are struggling massively.

TBR Football even understands Forest are now prepared to open fresh contract talks with Nuno following the bright start to the season.

The two sides look to be heading in totally opposite directions following the opening games of the season with Marinakis surely pleased with his managerial decision.

Perhaps the only concern for Forest this season has been their home form with no wins coming in front of the City Ground crowd.

However, Forest will be handed the opportunity, ironically, to clinch all three points on Monday night when they face Palace at home.
