'Everything on his own': BBC pundit says Man United player was doing it all himself against Brighton today

Manchester United failed to build on their comeback win against Southampton in midweek as they shipped three at home to Brighton to lose 3-1 and Dion Dublin believes there’s one United player who’s on his own.

Ruben Amorim looked on as the inconsistencies plaguing his team continued at Old Trafford.

Brighton simply had too much in terms of energy, quality and tactical sureness for United and it was yet another steep learning curve for the new United boss.

For United, things seem to be taking a step forward and then back and until Amorim gets his own players in, it could be the theme for the rest of the season.

Indeed, coming together as a team is just as important and according to BBC pundit Dion Dublin, Bruno Fernandes is simply trying to do too much alone.

Bruno Fernandes told he’s playing alone for Man United

Commentating on the game for the BBC, former United and Villa striker Dublin suggested the Red Devils don’t have enough quality and claimed that skipper Bruno Fernandes is trying to do everything alone.

“I don’t think they believed Man Utd from what I could see,” Dublin commented.

“Bruno Fernandes is trying to do everything on his own. The quality I was seeing in the red shirts wasn’t enough. Brighton were good and energetic – they were physically better.

“Brighton deserved to win the game.”

Man United fans unhappy with Bruno Fernandes

While he is the captain of Manchester United and got himself on the scoresheet again against Brighton, Bruno Fernandes remains a polarising figure.

Just a few weeks back, United fans called for Fernandes to be shown the door after the game with Bournemouth and it felt like a similar atmosphere in Old Trafford today.

Ruben Amorim has got some big decisions to make in January and then the summer as well.

In order to succeed, he has simply got to gut the dressing room and bring in new players.

Quite whether Fernandes will survive such a cull, will come down to Amorim’s own judgement.
