TBR Football understand Crystal Palace are ready to make a bid to sign Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland.

The Eagles have found the Championship to be a great place to shop in recent years, scooping up the likes of Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise and Adam Wharton from England’s second tier.

With Crystal Palace only five points above the Premier League relegation zone at the time of writing, Steve Parish is understandably keen to hand Oliver Glasner a couple of reinforcements in the January transfer window.

The south Londoners have already dipped back into the Championship with a bid for Ben Doak – the Scottish wonderkid on loan at Middlesbrough from Liverpool – and now, TBR Football understand another bid has been made for a player in that division in the shape of Jobe Bellingham.

Crystal Palace ready to submit Jobe Bellingham bid

Sources have informed Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent at TBR Football – that Crystal Palace are keen to take the Sunderland No.7 away from the Stadium of Light this month.

Crystal Palace scouts have been keeping a close eye on the Black Cats this season, with the Eagles also understood to be admirers of Chris Rigg and Trai Hume.

However, those at Selhurst Park have decided Bellingham is the priority, and are ready to tempt Sunderland with an offer.

TBR Football have been told that Crystal Palace hope to replicate the £22m Wharton signing from last January, where they caught a number of Premier League rivals out by moving early for the midfield maestro.

Sunderland would ideally like to keep Bellingham – who Tottenham looked at last summer – but with Regis Le Bris looking to make reinforcements this month, the England U21 international could be sold to raise funds.

TBR Football also understand Arsenal are monitoring the 19-year-old as well as Crystal Palace, while Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, both of whom signed his brother Jude, are admirers too.

Bellingham has scored four goals and provided three assists in 22 Championship appearances so far this season.

Crystal Palace bid £15m for Doak – an offer Liverpool rejected – although TBR Football understand that has not put the Eagles off, and they refuse to give up on the Scotland international.

Ipswich have also seen a £16m bid rebuffed, but, like Crystal Palace, do not plan to stop there.
