Exclusive: Dundee United agree Fiorini deal - medical today

Stockport midfielder Lewis Fiorini is set for a medical at Dundee United ahead of sealing his loan move to Scotland, sources have told Football Insider.
Dundee United have agreed a loan deal with Stockport to take the Scotland Under21 international Fiorini to Tannadice.
The 22-year-old joined Stockport last summer from Manchester City, but he has struggled to hold a regular spot in Stockport's starting XI and the League One outfit are happy for the midfielder to go out on loan.
The move is set to provide the central midfielder with more playing time in order to advance his own career, although he is under contract with Stockport until 2027.
Fiorini has only featured in 11 League One fixtures this season for Stockport, with only four of those taking place from the starting lineup.
The midfielder hasn't even been in the match day squad for 11 League One fixtures, having been deemed surplus to requirements on a regular basis.

Dundee United are currently fighting to secure European football this season, with the club sat in third place in the Scottish Premiership after 23 games.
Jim Goodwin is aiming to strengthen his squad for the second half of the campaign in a bid to keep the club in among that conversation.
Fiorini has built up experience for himself throughout his career, having made 152 appearances at this stage.
The versatile midfielder can play centrally, on the left and right, or in a more attacking role, which will provide Goodwin with different options.
Goodwin’s men are back in action on Monday (20 January) in a derby fixture against Dundee.
