TBR Football can exclusively reveal that a certain Manchester United player is now open to the idea of leaving Old Trafford.
TBR Football reported that Kobbie Mainoo’s contract talks at Manchester United have reached a stalemate, with intermediaries informing Chelsea about his situation. However, United expect Mainoo to eventually sign a contract extension beyond 2027.
Manchester United would loan Marcus Rashford out too, as TBR Football revealed as well.

But now, there is a feeling of uncertainty around another Manchester United stalwart’s future.
Alejandro Garnacho open to shock Atletico Madrid return
TBR Football’s chief correspondentGraeme Bailey has been informed that Alejandro Garnacho is open to leaving United in favour of a sensational return to his boyhood club Atletico Madrid.
TBR Football understands that the Argentine is frustrated with life under Ruben Amorim so far, with there being question marks over whether he fits into his 3-4-3 tactical setup. Amorim famously dropped the 20-year-old from United’s matchday squad ahead of his side’s 2-1 win against Manchester City as well.
Garnacho, praised by Tom Lockyer as a “frightening” talent is rated highly by both the former Sporting CP boss as well as the Manchester United hierarchy. However, neither party will stand in the youngster’s way if he wishes to leave United, who signed a contract extension until 2028 in April 2023.
The Madrid-born forward’s potential sale would massively benefit the English giants from the standpoint of PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) as counts as a homegrown player, whose departure would be accounted as pure profit.
TBR Football can reveal that Atletico Madrid remain very interested in signing Garnacho and are keeping a close eye on his situation.
In December, TBR Football revealed that Atletico Madrid are interested in Rashford as a loan signing and they do hold the England international in high esteem.
However, the Manchester United player that the Spanish giants would like to sign is Garnacho, if the opportunity presents itself to them.
What was Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s verdict on Garnacho’s future?
Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s verdict on Garnacho’s future was that he had no intention to sell him, as reported in March last year.
Ratcliffe was clear on the fact that Manchester United’s team should be built around the FA Cup winner, who had turned heads in training.
Kobbie Mainoo raved about Garnacho as an “unpredictable” winger who often leaves him stunned with his skills and tricks. Amad Diallo singled Garnacho out too for being the most skillful player at Manchester United, highlighting once again how highly rated he has always been by his teammates at Carrington.
But it looks like United’s stance around Garnacho has done a complete 180.
